Poetry is a Solitary Song

Morning all!
I hope the weekend has been a good one for you thus far. Here’s another quote for your enjoyment-
“A poet is a nightingale, who sits in darkness and sings to cheer its own solitude with sweet sounds.”
I have to say this one strikes a chord with me; it is ultimately why most poets write; to attempt to raise our own spirits and light up our own darkness even for the briefest of moments.
Sharing our work with others is simply the final stage in that process; putting our deepest emotions and truths to paper in order to resolve or better understand an emotion or situation and then hoping that those words mean something similar to others and can in turn help them too.
