Today I thought I’d share a quote from Salvatore Quasimodo that I think many of you will connect with-
“Poetry is also the physical self of the poet, and it is impossible to separate the poet from his poetry. “
Not a statement to be taken at face value- as I’ve said on a few occasions; poets and writers must be able to partially separate themselves from their work so as not to take criticism or praise too seriously- but like any artist it cannot be denied that your work will always contain elements of who you are and cannot be completely detached from your mind, heart, or soul.
