I just came across this quote and felt I should share it- not about poetry specifically, but relevant nonetheless.
“Don’t try and figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It’s the one and only thing you have to offer. “
Kinda says it all really, wouldn’t you agree?
