Morning all!
Hope the weekend is treating you well. 🙂
Today I thought I’d share a little advice that has always been a key point for me in poetry and is eloquently put to paper by Dorianne Laux-
“You are not your poetry. Your self esteem shouldn’t depend on whether you publish or whether some editor or writer you admire thinks you’re any good.”
So stop worrying- publication is not validation of how good you are or any true indication of success- poetry is about expressing your thoughts and feelings through the written (and sometimes spoken) word, and if just one person in the world can connect with those feelings in a deep and personal way then your poetry is a success.
