Poetry is cheap transportation

Morning all!
Another weekend here at last and I hope you’ve all got something amazing planned- I don’t, but I’m welcoming the chance to stop and relax for a bit instead.
I came across this quote earlier today and thought I’d share it with you-
“Poetry is my cheap means of transportation. By the end of the poem the reader should be in a different place from where he started. I would like him to be slightly disoriented at the end, like I drove him outside of town at night and dropped him off in a cornfield.”
Couldn’t agree more with that!
