Morning all!
Another quote for you to keep the weekend poetic-
“It is the job of poetry to clean up our word-clogged reality by creating silences around things.”
I have to say that I really like this perspective on poetry; it’s not just about the words themselves but the silence that encloses the subject of the poem that actually makes it poetry.
After all, the words are already there, the poet simply chooses when to start and stop writing; in essence, where to place the silence that surrounds the work.
It’s an interesting approach, wouldn’t you agree?
